Heesen announces sale of 80m Project Cosmos

by on 03-13-2018 in News

Heesen Yachts has confirmed the sale of its largest new-build to date, the 80m Project Cosmos.

The hull, also known as YN19480, features exterior styling by British studio Winch Design and possesses a “muscular sportiness and timeless elegance”.

Project Cosmos will be the world’s largest and fastest full-aluminium motor yacht with conventional propeller propulsion system upon delivery in April 2022, with a predicted top speed of 29 knots.

Extensive use of glass and the combination of soft and sculpted shapes creates a “yacht packed full of contemporary charm”. Key features on board include a helipad, capable of hosting a Eurocopter EC135, which can also be converted into an al fresco cinema.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across six cabins, including a main-deck master suite, bridge-deck VIP and four lower-deck cabins. The crew quarters can house up to 19 people.

There is plentiful al fresco relaxation on board, with a seven-metre contra-flow pool fed by a waterfall, and a beach club with walk-around bar. Tender storage will be located on the foredeck, where Project Cosmos will carry a Winch-designed custom limousine.

Power will come from four MTU 20V diesel engines, combined with the Van Oossanen-designed fast displacement hull, to provide high-level performance and steady cruising.

At 80.07 metres, Project Cosmos eclipses Heesen’s previous flagships, the 70m Galactica Super Nova and 65m Galactica Star.
